The People Part of Triple Bottom Line

folder General

When you’re in the game of innovation and tackling ‘wicked problems’, you absolutely need great people. World’s Biggest Garage Sale is growing and we’re delighted to welcome some new team members and introduce these incredible people to our community.

Lily Bostroem, Admin Aficianado

Lily hails from Sweden, having lived and worked in 3 different countries over the past four years, gaining diverse international experience. She is our amazing Sales and Administration Coordinator ensuring daily operations and projects run smoothly.

Lily first became a volunteer at WBGS in June 2021, assisting the team with everything administrative. She has six years of experience in the engineering industry including roles such as Office Administrator and Laboratory Technician, but decided to follow her passion for sustainability and responsible consumerism and started her permanent role as the Sales and Administration Assistant at WBGS after her four weeks of volunteering. Lily is the guru of making lists and keeping the office and warehouse humming (she also ensures the team never runs out of post-it notes)!

She said “The best part about working at World’s Biggest Garage Sale is our inspirational and hard-working team. We are all here for one reason – proactively being a part of the solution and making the world a better place!”

She has been a breath of fresh air as she quietly and efficiently keeps things running smoothly. When she’s not keeping World’s Biggest Garage Sale ticking over in great shape, you may find her at the nearest Karaoke bar, belting out her favourite ABBA tunes!

Sam hails from Brisbane and has long been into sustainability! With a background of Creative Writing and Literature, Sam has been honing her skills in sewing and crafts for several years.

“I was into Ops Shops and Upcycling long before it was trendy! I absolutely loved being involved in helping transform textiles and creating something new and valuable for someone, made with love.”

She’s working on several textile upcycling projects we have on the go currently and she brings her ingenuity, flair, good humour, attention to detail  and hardworking nature to everything she does!
